How Does Wink Atelier Approach Sustainability In their Practices?
RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS
Niza Huang Studio make the jewellery, where possible, with primarily recycled and re-refined precious metals from scrap metals or existing jewellery. They use existing gold, platinum and silver to create new pieces. These recycled materials are of identical quality to newly mined metals but without the environmental impact.

+ FAIRTRADE GOLD
Fairtrade Gold is the world’s first independent ethical certification system for gold. Using Fairtrade gold is important to all of us, as gold miners working to Fairtrade Standards meet strict requirements on labour conditions, worker’s rights and the protection of the environment. Niza Huang Studio offers the option of Fairtrade gold and encourage bespoke clients whenever possible to use it. This does incur a very modest additional charge over regular metals, which Niza Huang Studio does not profit from but is instead passed on to help improve practices at Fairtrade mines. To ensure the traceability of the Fairtrade gold Niza Huang Studio uses, each piece is marked with the Fairtrade Gold Stamp at the London Assay Office.

As part of our commitment to environmental and social responsibility Niza Huang Studio source their diamonds carefully from trustworthy suppliers to ensure they are conflict-free and that the mines their suppliers use adhere to international labour standards with fair working conditions.
For the certified diamonds, Niza Huang Studio only buy diamonds certified by GIA or AGS, the most respected diamond grading laboratories, known for their accuracy and professionalism.

Niza Huang Studio also offers ethical alternatives to traditionally mined diamonds such as lab-grown diamonds and Massonite Stones. Lab-grown diamonds are identical to natural diamonds in their chemical and physical characteristics but are created using cutting-edge technology. They are graded and certified using the same process as mined diamonds. Another beautiful option is the Massonite stone, a rare type of gemstone that is also lab-created. Hardwearing and with incredible shine, it is a great eco-friendly choice for an engagement ring.
