SELINA YANG

SELINA YANG draws inspiration from London’s rich blend of history and modernity, creating jewellery that harmonizes sustainable practices with timeless design. Committed to sustainability from the beginning, she utilizes recyclable 925 silver and creatively sourced materials from British vintage markets. These unique finds inform her inaugural series, Special Moments, which features vintage watches and jewellery. Her ethos revolves around re-creation and development, ensuring each piece tells its own story. Looking ahead, she’s excited to continue introducing more “re-made” designs that celebrate both heritage and contemporary craftsmanship.

Can you introduce SELINA YANG and your creative process?
SY: Our designs are developed in our London studio, and the city’s architecture, scenery, and culture are constant sources of inspiration. Each collection begins with Selina crafting initial designs in wax by hand, which are then cast into jewellery at Hatton Garden, London’s historic jewellery quarter.

What are the sustainability goals for SELINA YANG?
SY: Since day one, sustainability has been central to our brand. We prioritize recyclable 925 silver and source unique vintage materials from British markets for reimagined, one-of-a-kind designs. Our debut collection, “Special Moments,” repurposes vintage watches and jewellery, and we’re excited to continue introducing more re-make designs with a focus on sustainable craftsmanship.

Can you describe a standout piece from your latest collection?
SY: The standout piece is a weather vane pendant from our “Bethnal Green Museum Garden” series. This piece is inspired by the St John Church’s weather vane in East London, and features the postcode E2 9PA, so wearers can discover the garden’s beautiful setting. The design symbolises Selina’s journey as an immigrant and her connection to East London, a place where diverse backgrounds meet, creating a true sense of home.

How do you create timeless jewellery in such a fast-paced industry?**
SY: We prioritise sustainable, recycled materials and often source antique elements from London’s vintage markets to ensure each piece feels personal and can be cherished for years.

Do you have a personal motto that drives your commitment to sustainable fashion?
SY: “Take the time, step by step.” We believe in savouring the creation process, allowing each piece to capture a moment for its wearer.
