STUDIO-PARENTHESIS is a multidisciplinary design practice founded by architect and maker Vicente Martínez. The studio creates thoughtfully designed objects, lighting, furniture and interiors that encourage people to pause and experience their surroundings differently. Combining traditional craftsmanship with digital fabrication, the studio focuses on material innovation, local production and circular design principles. Every piece is created with honesty, clarity and a belief that good design should start a dialogue between the object, its space and the people who use it.
At AVANTELIER, we proudly present the Sombrilla Lamp—a sculptural pendant light inspired by the texture of sunlight filtering through a paper sunshade. 3D-printed in corn-based PLA and hand-assembled using reclaimed materials, it is both a functional light and a decorative statement piece.

What makes the Sombrilla Lamp unique?
The Sombrilla Lamp combines digital fabrication with traditional hand assembly. Inspired by the texture of sunlight filtering through a paper sunshade, it is designed to be more than a light source—it is a sculptural object that creates atmosphere and invites conversation.
How is the Sombrilla Lamp made?
Each lamp is 3D-printed in corn-based PLA (polylactic acid) and carefully hand-assembled using printed components and reclaimed materials. This approach reflects the studio’s commitment to material innovation, local production and circular design.
