+ A brief about your brand and your creativity ethos.
Yang Du launched the YANG DU brand in 2009 after completing a BA and MA degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins and working alongside John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and Giles Deacon.
After completing two seasons as part of The British Fashion Council’s NewGen initiative for the support of exceptional talent her namesake label went on to be stocked in Selfridges and Brown’s alongside an exclusive collaboration with Joyce in Hong Kong amassing a celebrity clientele including Daisy Lowe, Paloma Faith, Alexa Chung, Sammi Cheng, Liu Wen to name but a few.
For over 10 years Yang Du presented her collections at both London and Paris Fashion Week and had over 30 stockiest worldwide.

Yang Du Travel and Leisure Backpacks Collection was born in 2018 based on my love of traveling.
It is a perfect combination of Style and Functionality.
Suitable for Traveling, Outdoor Activity, as well as using as Mum/Dad backpacks and Schoolbags.
It is inspired by the Love of the Nature and our dearest Animal Friends hoping to raise awareness of Wildlife Protection and Environments Responsibility.
With great attention to details and the love of craftmanship we produce unique product that are Handmade, Fun and Limited.
Since launching the collection in 2018, part of our proceeds has been donated to wildlife conservation groups such as Friends of the Koala (Australia), the Elephant Hospital at the Asian Elephant Foundation, Elephant Nature Park (Thailand), and Vrienden van de Olifant (Netherlands).
+ How do you ensure that sustainability is woven into every aspect of your design process, from sourcing materials to production and distribution?
All of our products are hand crafted. To ensure the quality we are working directly with the craftsman on very limited production.
Our backpack using eco-friendly waterproof Oxford PU fabric, it has strong waterproof properties, weather aging resistance and more diverse methods to make it last longer. Using transitional Leather Sculpture Techniques our leather products are handcrafted with Vegetables tanned Leather which are a co-product of the meat industry. We would like to working with the stores who sharing the same ethical values.
+ Lastly, could you share a personal mantra or motto that keeps you motivated to continue creating and advocating for sustainable fashion?
As an independent small business every decision and step is personal.
As a human being we sharing equal responsibly on climate warming and environment challenges. Without Sustainability no one can survive.
As a designer we are constantly facing challenges as well as opportunities.
Design is a manifestation of social progress, it offering Beauty as well as Solutions!
